Srinagar, Mar 3 (KNS): In its continuous bid to streamline traffic in City Srinagar, Traffic cops under the supervision of SSP Traffic Maqsood ul Zaman came down heavily on traffic violators involved in visible offences viz., without wearing crash helmet, double pillion, without wearing seat belts, overloading, use of mobile phone while driving and challaned 687 vehicles.
During the drive 62 two-wheelers were seized. Motor-cyclists / riders were later educated and counseled, at TPO City Complex, to desist from traffic violations in future.
Further, Traffic Police in order to restore order on roads has taken cognitive action against road / foot-path encroachments to restore traffic flow and were later joined by Srinagar Municipal Corporation authorities who swung into action against encroachments and cleared the mess created in the area by shopkeepers who often are seen infringing on the right of way of both commuters and pedestrians by spreading their merchandize not only on foot-paths but on roads as well.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
Traffic Police In order to streamline traffic system in City Srinagar advice all stake holders to desist from traffic violations and road / footpath encroachments for the convenience of general public and to restore right of way of all road users. (KNS)
