Srinagar, Feb 16 (KNS): Apni Party President Altaf Bukhari on Monday welcomed the administration's decision to reopen tourist destinations closed in the wake of last year's Pahalgam terror attack, stating that the move reinforces the message that development and peace are the strongest responses to terrorism.

In a post on X, Bukhari as per Kashmir News Service (KNS) expressed gratitude to Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha for the directive, which his party described as a "much-awaited" step.

"I sincerely thank Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha for deciding to reopen the tourist destinations in Jammu and Kashmir that were closed after the horrific Pahalgam terror attack in April last year," Bukhari stated.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel

He emphasized the economic significance of the decision, noting that it brings "great relief to the tourism sector and to the many families who depend on it for their livelihood."

"The strongest response to terrorism is to keep moving forward with peace, development, and progress. By restoring normal life and encouraging growth, we strengthen the path toward lasting peace and stability in Jammu and Kashmir," the Apni Party President added.

Earlier in the day, the Lieutenant Governor ordered the reopening of 14 tourist destinations across both the Kashmir and Jammu divisions, which had remained off-limits following security concerns after the Pahalgam attack. (KNS)
