Srinagar, Jul 09 (KNS): Jammu and Kashmir Police Tourism Enforcement Wing Sunday claimed to have busted an illegal, un-registered Hajj/Umrah Tour & Travel agency operating in the Valley.
According to the statement issued to KNS, the Tourist Police Station Srinagar received an information that one un-approved travel agency namely INDO SAHAB located at New Delhi is allegedly operating in Kashmir valley illegally and giving frequent advertisements in local newspapers in order to cheat gullible people.
Officials said that in this regard, FIR number 06/2017 under section 420,511 RPC, 2/28-32,36(II) T.T Act R.W sec 2(g) T.T Act was registered and two persons have been arrested namely Dawood Ahmad Azad son of Humayoun Azad resident of Kursoo Rajbagh and Mohd Shabbar Khoja son of Hassan Ali Khoja resident of Dongri Mumbai (proprietor of Al-Huda Travels Mumbai) who were operating in Srinagar on behalf of INDO SAHAB TOUR & TRAVEL SERVICES.
“Preliminary investigation has revealed that the duo were working with INDO SAHAB TRAVEL SERVICES, First floor Abu Fazal Enclave Jamia Nagar Okhla New Delhi and were persuading and motivating the local Hajj aspirants regarding the HAJJ 2017 and were collecting money from the Hajj aspirants,” officials said.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
The officials said that during further investigation it has surfaced that INDO SAHAB TRAVEL SERVICES has not been issued quota for the Hajj 2017 by the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India. “Some incriminating documents & passports have been recovered from the accused persons and Rs 330,000/= has been recovered from Indo Sahab Travel Services New Delhi till now. Further investigation of the case is going on,” they said.
Officials further said that the public in general is advised through the medium of this press release not to fall prey to these kinds of un-registered/un-authorized Hajj/Umrah tour operators and before booking any tour first verify the credentials of the company. (KNS)
