Handwara, Sep 27 (KNS): Tourism Department Handwara on Monday celebrated World Tourism Day at tourist reception center here, with a number of functions marking the occasion while following the COVID-19 protocol. 

Tourism department in charge North Kashmir, Mazoor Ahmad told Kashmir News Service (KNS) that several activities were held at atTRC Handwara to mark the World Tourism Day. 

“Since the viral outbreak of Covid19 is still around, the main focus was sanitation and awareness about vaccination and proper wearing of face masks,” he said. 

He said that Tourist work force are fully vaccinated, while the school children, hoteliers, medical officials besides Tourism staff participated in the cleanliness and sanitation drive in and around TRC Handwara. 

“The message was given to the tourists visiting or planning to visit Bungus and Lolab area that the frontline service providers are fully vaccinated and your safety is our priority,” he further said. 

He said that it's everyones responsibility to preserve and protect the the beauty of tourist destinations. “We want people to extend their support to promote tourist destinations of North Kashmir,” he added. (KNS)
