To Eliminate Drug abuse among young students, Degree College Pattan Organised Anti-Cannabis Drive

Pattan September 15:(KNS)  IQAC and NSS Units of the college organized one day Anti-Cannabis Plantation Drive in and around the campus of the college. 

 

The drive was carried out in collaboration with the Municipal Committee, Pattan. The drive was formally inaugurated by SDPO Pattan Mr. Zafar Iqbal Mehdi. 

 

In the inaugural session the Principal, Prof. (Dr) Ghualm Jeelani Qureshi highlighted to the students the importance of organizing such drives. 

 

NSS Programme officers, Prof Sajad Sarvar and Dr.ASiya Nazir encouraged the students to stay away from the menace of drugs.

 

They made students aware about the ill effects of the marijuana which is locally called as Bhang/ Charas. This is the easily available and cheap drug which grows as a weed. 

 

They asked the students to carry the message of eradicating the Cannabis from their surroundings, communities and towns and also requested the authorities to take action in this regard. 

 

The programme was co-ordinated by Dr. Imtiyaz Gul (Staff Secretary, GDC Pattan) who ensured that such kind of programmes would be organized in future as well that would be helpful for eradicating all kinds of social evils.(KNS)
