Poonch, October 02 (KNS): To review the progress of developmental works under district plan 2015-16 besides discuss issues hindering developmental process, Member Legislative Assembly Mendhar, Javed Ahmed Rana convened a meeting of district and sub-divisional officers at Mendhar.
District Development Commissioner, Nisar Ahmed Wani, Senior Superintendent of Police, J S Johar, Assistant Commissioner Development, Dr. Basharat Hussain, Sub-Divisional Magistrate Mendhar, Sher Singh, Superintendent Engineer Hydraulics, Rayasat Khan besides Executive Engineers of R&B, PDD, PHE, I&FC, PMGSY and officers of various other departments attended the meeting.
The MLA took stock of various infrastructural projects being executed by R&B, PMGSY, I&FC, PHE, PDD, Education departments besides assessing functioning of CA&PD, Agriculture, Horticulture, Animal Husbandry. He impressed upon the officers of PHE and PDD to establish close liaison to address the problems pertaining to supply of drinking water besides directing Executing Engineer PHE to restore all the water supply schemes damaged during recent cloud bursts in Mendhar.
While reviewing the status of developmental works in R&B and PMGSY sectors, the MLA asked the officers for removing all the hindrances in completion of important roads especially internal rural links.
A detailed review of RDD was also taken by the MLA and the ACD was asked to involve PRIs at different levels for formulation and implementation of rural development schemes. The issue of pending liabilities besides implementation of MGNREGA, IAY etc. were discussed in detail.
Rana asked the officers of RDD, PMGSY and I&FC for effective dovetailing while assuring them necessary assistance out of his constituency development fund. (KNS)
