Says Resumption of flights first step toward revival of tourism

Srinagar, May 15 (KNS): Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu on Thursday said that just as the entire country stood together in condemning the recent terror attack in Pahalgam, now is the time for everyone to unite and support the economy of Jammu and Kashmir.

While speaking to the media in Srinagar, the minister said, “After the Pahalgam terror attack, the people and businesses of Jammu and Kashmir are facing many challenges. The local economy has suffered a lot. I strongly believe that we must all come together to help the business of Jammu and Kashmir to recover and grow.”

He added that he had come to Kashmir with a clear goal, to support the revival of tourism in the Valley. “Tourism is a major part of Kashmir’s economy. I want to assure everyone that Kashmir is safe and just as beautiful as ever.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelAll flight operations have been resumed, and we are encouraging people from across the country to visit and explore the place.”

He also said that the Civil Aviation Ministry is fully committed to supporting all efforts that can help the region's economy. “We will do whatever is possible to help. Bringing back tourists and restoring normal life is very important, and restarting flights is the first step in that direction.”

Naidu also said he is hopeful about the response from tourists. “We are already seeing good numbers of passengers on flights to Kashmir. In the coming weeks, we’ll get a clearer picture of how people are responding to our appeal, he added” (KNS).
