Jammu, Aug 11 (KNS): Three soldiers, two militants were killed in a fidayeen attack and two soldiers were injured in a gunfight in Darhal area of Rajouri on Thursday.
The gunfight happened in Pargal area early this morning, defence ministry spokesman based in Jammu said.
"2 (militants) trying to sneak into a post in the dark at Pargal Rajouri were detected and engaged by alert troops. The (militants) have been neutralised," he said in a statement to KNS.
Officials said that in a militant attack 25 kms from Rajouri, two militants carried out a suicide attack on an army company operating base,” they said.
Three soldiers among the injured succumbed to wounds, sources said.
ADGP Jammu Mukesh Singh said that someone tried to cross the fence of the army camp at Pargal in Darhal area of Rajouri. “Exchange of fire took place. Additional parties dispatched to the area 6 km from Darhal. Two militants have been killed,” he said. The officials said that the operation is in progress.(KNS)
