Srinagar, Apr 24 (KNS): Three militants of LeT outfit were killed in an encounter in Pahoo village of Pulwama district on Sunday evening, police said that here.
An official said that encounter broke out in Pahoo village following inputs about the presence of militants in the area.
He said that during the ensuing encounter three militants of LeT were killed, while arms and ammunition were also recovered from the site of emcounter.
Meanwhile, Kashmir zone police while quoting IGP in a Tweet informed that deputy of LeT’s top commander Basit has been killed in Pulwama encounter and has been identified as
Arif Hazar alias Rehan.
IGP said that he was involved in the killings of inspector Parvez in front of a mosque, SI Arshid & a mobile shop owner in downtown area of Srinagar.
He added that several FIRs are registered against him in the city, while identification of other 2 militants was yet to done. (KNS)
