Srinagar, Dec 29 (KNS): Three militants including two local and one foreigner prescribed with JeM outfit were killed in a gunfight between security forces and militants in Mirhama area of south Kashmir’s Kulgam district, officials said on Wednesday. 

An official said that three millitants prescribed with JeM millitant Outfit killed in Kulgam encounter.

Earlier, an official said that a joint team of Police, Army and CRPF launched a Cordon and Search Operation (CASO) on input about presence of millitants.

As the joint team of forces approached towards the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon them, which was retaliated, triggering a gunfight.

Meanwhile, Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kashmir, Vijay Kumar termed the killing of three millitants as big success.

Kashmir Zone Police on its official Twitter handle also confirmed the killing of three millitants in Kulgam.
