Srinagar, Sep 26 (KNS): At least three CRPF troopers were injured after suspected militants’ hurled grenade in Wanpoh area of South Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Monday.
Reports said that suspected militants hurled a grenade in Wanpoh area at an army vehicle deployed along with CRPF men on the Srinagar-Jammu highway.
Reports quoting an official said that three CRPF men were injured in a grenade blast who were shifted to hospital for treatment.
Meanwhile, police in a statement issued to KNS said that “This afternoon unknown militants hurled a grenade on CRPF party of 99-BN deployed for ROP duty near Government Higher Secondary School Wanpoh, Mir Bazaar in District Kulgam.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelThree CRPF personnel sustained injuries in the incident. The injured were shifted to Hospital for treatment. Security forces cordoned off the area and launched a manhunt to nab the attackers.”
Meanwhile, Hizb operational commander, Burhan-ud-din in a tele-statement to KNS claimed the responsibility of Wanpoh attack.
He said that “three force personnel were killed while two others have been wounded in the attack. Such attacks will continue in future as well.”
