Banihal, Jul 24 (KNS): National Conference leader and district President Ramban Haji Sajjad Shaheen on tuesday called upon the people of the State in general and people of district Ramban in particular to maintain their age-old communal harmony at all costs and do all that may be necessary to ensure the safety of life and public property.
Shaheen expressed his deep concern over thrashing of an 65 years old person from Neel by some miscreants at village Ayaar (Makerkoot) in Banihal Constituency and said that such acts are a plot to vitiate peaceful atmosphere and communal harmony in the area.
He observed with anguish the continuing acts of violence and assault on people on the one pretext or the other and hoped that in this hour of crisis, diverse sections of society would contribute their best in bringing about harmony among the people of various faiths and communities and between people of the Jammu and Kashmir regions.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
Cautioning the people against those opportunist political forces who exploit the religious and regional emotions of the people for the sake of vested political interests and do not hesitate to share power with ideologically opposite forces.
Shaheen said that National Conference has always played the role of unifying force in this sensitive state, having regional, religious and linguistic and cultural diversities and said that the paramount duty and concern of the our Party (NC) is to keep the age old traditions of harmony, brotherhood and defeat the forces of hatred and division, in any form.
