Pattan, Feb 15 (KNS): With an aim to create awareness among the youth regarding the evils of drug addiction, a massive anti-drug awareness/seminar was today held in Government higher secondary Institute pattan. Large number of students from various educational institutions, District police, civil, Army Officers, students and locals participated in the programme. The Programme was organized by media association pattan in collaboration with district police Baramulla with the support of army.
The main aim to conduct the programme was to inculcate the awareness among the students and Cigarette smokers about the drug addiction with the sole objective to eradicate the drug menace from district Baramulla particularly from Pattan town and convey the message to that it is a disease that causes compulsive drug seeking and needs to be treated as early as possible.
Addressing the gathering Commander 10 sector Brig. Shabih Haider Naqvi and SSP Baramulla Imtiyaz Hussain Mir during their speeches said that Drug menace in Society is the biggest challenge for the Police and army and Expressing deep concern over the growing addictions in the Society.
President DAK Dr Nisar ul Hassan and other speakers spoke about the drug addiction and the treatment available in the Market as well as in the hospitals. Civil officers, Journalists, Counselors highlighted the drug addiction scenario in the society and preventive measures, role of the society in the prevention of drug Menace.

Seminar was organized by Media association pattan in collaboration with district police Baramulla and 29 RR. The programe was highly appreciated by the public and requested for further Programes in the area.
Sr superintendent of police Baramulla was awarded for his best and wonderful performance against the drug mafia in Baramulla district. at the end of seminar prize distribution ceremony was held in which certificates and prizes were distributed among the position holders and participants by SSP Baramulla.
