Those involved in smuggling arms, ammo will be taken to task soon: SSP Kupwara

Srinagar, Apr 19 (KNS): Senior Superintendent of Police Kupwara, Yougul Manhas on Tuesdag said that those involved in smuggling of arms and ammunition from across the border will be arrested and taken to the task soon. 
 
Talking to reporters in Kupwara, Manhas said that the security forces managed thwart nefarious designs of adversaries to commit innocent civilian killings by smuggling arms and ammunition from across the border. 
 
He said that as arms and ammunition were recovered from a village along the Line of Control, there is every possibility of such type of acts as the area has regular civilian movements, however, army is doing its job very well. 
 
Manhas said that those involved in the act of smuggling arms and ammunition will be arrested soon, while a case in this regard has been registered and investigation was in progress.
 
Notably, earlier in the day police claimed to have recovered huge cache of arms and ammunition from Taad area of Karnah in the district. 
 
An official said that police along with local Army unit managed to recover arms & ammunition including 10 pistols, 17 pistol magazines, 54 pistol rounds & 5 grenades from the village. (KNS)
