There was no evident reason for Rana to quit NC: Nasir Aslam Wani

Srinagar, Oct 11 (KNS): The National Conference senior leader, Nasir Aslam Wani on Monday stated that there was no evident reason for Devender Rana to quit the party.

Talking to Kashmir News Service (KNS), Aslam said that Rana hadn’t mentioned any particular reason for quitting the party.

He said that it is vey unfortunate that their old colleague has resigned from the party. "I shared a very good bond with him. We have  worked together during our political career and we have always faced uncertainties in the political career together".

He said that it is an irony that Rana changed his mind and decided to quit the National Conference.

Replying to a question, he said that Rana had not expressed any valid reason to resign from the party, nor has he informed anything about it in the meeting with Dr Farooq Abdullah.

He said that Jammu has always been a strong division and will continue to be the one. “People now are talking about Jammu but National Conference from the very beginning has always stood up for the rights of Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh division and will continue to do so in the future.”

Aslam said that from the last week the situation in the Valley has worsened. “The claims of central government has failed completely. The picture of normalcy is completely false. I have always urged GOI to make the administration process transparent and to take serious cognizance of the ground reality in the Valley so that people should be ensured a sense of security.”

Notably, on Sunday National Conference provincial president Jammu, Devender Singh Rana has resigned from the National Conference and joined the BJP on Monday in the presence of Union Ministers in New Delhi. (KNS)
