Kupwara, Dec, 9 (KNS) Amidst the Ubiquitous availability of drugs in border town Karnah, Sensationally the theft cases have been increased day by day in the area.
From last five days two separate theft cases have been reported in which thieves break into shops and steal goods, one case has been resolved by police and stolen material of 0.50 lac recovered from accused the official said that the drug addicts commit these crimes in order to support their drug habit.
'It is sensationally revealed that the drug manace has spread to an alarming extent in border town Karnah thats why theft cases suddenly increased a police official said, he said 'many people who have become addicted to drugs cannot efford them through regular means as a result, they may attempt to commit theft in order to support their drug habit, drug addiction and criminal bahaving very often go hand in hand, drugs are expensive when active drug use gets in the way of holding down a job often his only resource to get of drugs of his choice is to engage in theft and other criminal activities, they commit crimes to pay for drugs the official said,
' we will continue the drive against drug trafficking till it’s completely eliminated in the area' he added.(KNS)
