Jammu, Mar 10 (KNS): One terrorist was killed after the Army foiled an infiltration attempt along the Line of Control in the Nowshera sector of Rajouri district on Tuesday, officials said.
According to officials, the movement of two suspected terrorists was detected in the Jhangar area of Nowshera along the Line of Control around 3 pm following intelligence inputs.
Alert troops of the Army engaged the infiltrators, triggering an exchange of fire. During the operation, one terrorist was killed, officials said.
Security forces have launched a search operation in the area to trace the second terrorist who is believed to be hiding nearby.
Officials said troops have been redeployed in the sector and surveillance has been intensified with the help of ground and aerial monitoring to prevent any further infiltration attempts.
The Army said a heightened alert continues in the sector as security forces maintain vigil along the border.(KNS).
