Handwara, June 26(KNS): A teenager drowned in a pond in Bowan village of Rajwara area of Kupwara district on Sunday afternoon.
Reports reaching Kashmir News Service (KNS) said that the teenager fell into a water pond in Rajwar and soon after the incident, team from Zachaldar police station along with locals launched a rescue operation to trace him.
Meanwhile, DO Zachaldara confirmed the incident to KNS and said that the boy fell into the pond while taking a bath.
He said that they have launched a rescue operation to trace the boy.
The boy has been identified minor as Altaf Ahmed (17) son of Mohammad Shafi of Bowan area of Rajwara. (KNS)
