“Transfer policy was not followed”

Srinagar, Mar 15 (KNS): Teachers in Kupwara district are agitated with their transfers ordered by the administration, with the former claiming that transfer policy formulated by the directorate was “completely bypassed”.
The teachers claimed that the chief education officer of the district was “sidelined”.
While the administration claims that the decision was taken for “rationalization” of teachers in schools, the later said that nearly 4000 teachers, including those appointed last year, were transferred by the Deputy Commissioner Kupwara, Kumar Rajiv Ranjan throwing the transfer policy “to wind”.
“The transfer policy that was formulated by the education department was not followed in letter and spirit. The transfers were ordered arbitrarily,” said a teacher, Mohammad Amin Khan of Kupwara.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
Agitated with the decision, hundreds of teachers today asked the district administration to rescind the orders and address into their grievances.
The teachers said that as per the policy, the teachers should have been posted to the schools of their choice. “But this was not done,” they said.
The teachers claimed that Chief Education Officer was also “not taken on board” by the deputy commissioner.
Refuting the allegations that the CEO concerned was sidelined, Ranjan told KNS that it was not possible to transfer teachers without the education department’s help.
“The educated department provided all the date about teachers and then went ahead with the decision. We will look into the grievances of the teachers to address them,” Ranjan said. (KNS)
