Srinagar, Nov 02 (KNS): Teachers in Kashmir have strongly condemned the continuous arrest of its leaders by the PDP-BJP government and denial to the relatives of the leaders to meet them in jail.
The teachers demanded that the EJAC leaders should be immediately released and the sacked employees must be reinstated.
Jammu and Kashmir Teachers Forum provincial president, Mohammad Afzal Bhat said that the EJAC leaders have been “illegally” imprisoned by the government.
“Besides illegally jailing the EJAC leaders, the authorities are not allowing the relatives of the incarcerated leader to meet them in jail. The leaders are unwell and need check up by doctors,” Bhat said.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
EJAC president Abdul Qayoom Wani, EJAC spokesperson Farooq Trali, Fayaz Shabnum, Manzoor Ahmad Langoo, Tariq Ahmad Sofi, Wajahat Durani, Fayaz Shabnum and Latief Ahmad and Latief Ahmad Malik were detained on October 22 before their meeting to discuss the sacking of 1 employees for “taking part in the unrest”. They have been jailed in Baramulla and Kupwara sub-jails. “Government is resorting to revenge politics,” the senior EJAC leader and said. He said that the employees terminated by the government for 'participating in the agitation' should be reinstated. (KNS)
