Teacher's Day Celebrated at Faculty of Forestry, Benhama, SKUAST-K

Srinagar September 05 (KNS):  Faculty of Forestry, Benhama-Watlar, SKUAST-K on Monday celebrated Teachers Day on 5th September, 2022. The Program was organized by Students Welfare Office, FOF. 


Dr Syed Naseem Geelani, Associate Professor and Head SBS who is also Students Welfare Officer (Organizing Secretary) proposed formal welcome address. He briefly highlighted the important role of teachers in shaping the future of students and said that teachers are the ones who motivate the students to do better in every domain and help them achieve life goals.

Prof. S.A Gangoo, Dean Faculty of Forestry highlighted the importance of teachers in students Educational career as well as their role for developing ethical and moral values among students. He further said that teachers not only bring out the best from the students but teach them valuable life skills too.

Among students, Sadiya Zargar and Jannat Javid, both UG students delivered their speech and highlighted importance of Teachers Day. Teachers are the pillars of Nation, Said Sadiya Zargar in her speech. Speakers further highlighted the role of teachers in building future of the Nation. A teacher is the person who shapes the personality, opens one’s mind and guides him or her towards the right path, said Jannat Javid in her Speech. 

The event was attended by Prof. P.A Khan Head, FBT, Prof. Akhlaq Amin Wani,Head NRM, Dr Aasif Ali Gatoo, Dr Amarjeet Singh, Dr. Showkat, Dr. Khursheed Ahmad, Dr.Megna Rashid, Dr. Sabeena Nabi, Scientists at FoF and U.G/P.G and Ph. D students of the Faculty.

The vote of thanks was proposed by Dr Maqbool Rather, Assistant Professor, Division of FBT. He thanked the guests and participants for sparing their time. The program was anchored by Farhana Manzoor, UG student of the Faculty and facilitated by Dr Sabina Nabi, Scientist and President Students Council, Mr Jauhar Rafiq, Ph.D Scholar at FoF. (KNS)
