Tarigami expresses grief over loss of lives in Kishtwar accident

Srinagar November 17 (KNS): CPI(M) leader Mohamad Yousuf Tarigami has expressed shock and grief over continued tragic accidents in Chenab valley area in which 8 persons died and several were injured.

Voicing concern over continuing tragic incidents in the area, Tarigami asked the government to come out with a report on action taken over recommendations of a House Committee that was constituted to prepare a comprehensive report on causes and measures to bring down the number of road mishaps in the area. The repeated road accidents in Chenab valley is a grave concern for all of us.

He said many years have passed since the panel submitted its report, but the government is yet to come out with its action taken report on the recommendations. This speaks volumes about the administration's indifferent attitude towards this serious issue. It is time for introspection and immediate initiation of effective measures to avoid such tragedies.

Tarigami urged the administration to provide free of cost medical treatment to the injured persons and ex-gratia to the families of deceased.(KNS)
