Pitches for dialogue process with all stakeholders to resolve Kashmir issue

Srinagar, Sep 22 (KNS): Condemning indiscriminate slapping of Public Safety Act (PSA) on the youth, senior CPI (M) leader and MLA Kulgam Mohammad Yousuf Tarigami Thursday urged the government to ensure that the youth are not victimized by this draconian law.
In a statement issued to KNS, Tarigami said, “In most of the cases the Act is being slapped on the youth without grounds being substantative and valid which is generating resentment and anger among the masses who already feel deeply alienated. The random arrests being made across the state have germinated more mistrust and anger among the people especially the youth. It should be stopped and harassment of the people be put to an end.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel”
He said that the atrocities committed on the protestors and damages caused to residential houses by security forces is worsening the situation and making it more complex.
CPI (M) is of considered opinion that in order to resolve the long pending issue, a credible and structured process of dialogue with all stakeholders has to be initiated urgently.
“Repression is bound to worsen the situation further. Whatever the pretext, it has to be stopped. The Uri incident cannot be an excuse for heightening oppression against the people,” he added. (KNS)
