Srinagar, Jan 04 (KNS): CPI (M) senior leader and MLA Kulgam on Wednesday appealed the government to fulfil the genuine demands of Anganwadi workers, helpers, Asha workers, and Mid-day meal workers.
He asked the workers to take part in the nationwide strike on Jan 20.
In a statement issued to KNS, Tarigami said, “The workers are getting a meagre amount of Rs 3000 and RS 1500 per month since 1975 as per the ICDS scheme, which is a joke for them. The government must fulfil the genuine demands of workers,” he demanded.
He said that the government in the previous budget session had announced Rs 500 hike in their salaries by unfortunately, the decision was not implemented so far.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel“The government claims over the welfare of women provided hoax on the ground as it continued to do injustice with 40000 women,” he said.
Meanwhile, Tarigami asked the workers to take part in the nationwide strike slated to be observe on Jan 20. “In case the government fails to announce anything for the welfare of these workers, a massive protest will be held on Feb 02.”
He appealed the government to look into the sufferings of these workers and hike their monthly honorarium. (KNS)
