Targeting of Vulnerable Must Stop : Mirwaiz on Uttarakhand Attack on Kashmiris

Srinagar, Jan 30 (KNS) ; Mirwaiz Umar Farooq on Friday expressed "deep anguish" over the alleged brutal assault on two Kashmiri shawl vendors in Uttarakhand's Vikas Nagar, stating it reflects a "disturbing pattern of communal profiling" against Kashmiris outside the Union Territory.

Addressing a congregation at Srinagar's Jama Masjid, the Mirwaiz specifically highlighted the incident involving 18-year-old Tabish and his brother Danish, who were reportedly attacked with iron rods, causing grievous injuries.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel

He asserted that such incidents in states like Uttarakhand, Haryana, and Himachal Pradesh increase the "safety risk and anxiety" for thousands of Kashmiris who travel to different parts of India during winter months to earn a livelihood.

Mirwaiz urged authorities to "take this matter seriously" and ensure the safety of Kashmiris outside J&K, calling for an immediate end to the "targeting of vulnerable people." (KNS)
