Tangmarg December 26:(KNS) Sabiya Nabi an international skier receives Sher-i-Kashmir Award in the field of skking for her best performance as skier.
Sabiya Nabi , the international skier hailed from Qazipora Tangmarg of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.
She is an alpine skier have started this beautiful journey when she was in 5th standard from youth service and sports
She did her basic course in year 2009
Intermediate in 2010 and advance course in 2011.
Then she started participating in many regional, state and National events in which she got many medals.
1.Gulmarg global derby.
2.HAWS CUP
3.Hoteliers Cup
*In 2012 she participated in first junior National held at Gulmarg in which she Got double gold medals in salalom event and Gaint salalom event
she participated in senior national in 2014 held at Auli uttrakhand where she got bronze medal.Till now she have participated in 6 Nationals
From 2017 she started taking part in state and district championships where consistent gold medalist till now (2020).On March 2020 she participated in ist ever KHELO INDIA EVENT where she got double gold.
She have participated in 27th Asian Alpine ski champion held in IRAN in year 2018
Last but not least she was recently awarded by J&K sports council with sports medal (SHER-I- KASHMIR AWARDEE).
Sabiya Nabi Talking With KNS Correspondent, she said that my dream is to participate in winter Asian Games and Winter Olympics to flourish their represent my State and Country.
Sabiya Nabi on this occasion thanking Almighty Allah than her family support especially her Father Mr GH Nabi Dar who guided her always.(KNS)
