Taliban will be multinational worry if it repeats what it did in 90s: Mehbooba Mufti

Srinagar, Sep 08 (KNS): The Peoples Democratic Party chief and former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister, Mehbooba Mufti Wednesday said that Taliban’s takeover in Afghanistan will be the multinational worry if it repeats what it did in the 90s.

While talking to reporters, as per Kashmir News Service (KNS), she said that the Taliban is becoming a reality and thier first strategy was against human rights.

“Now if they have come and want to rule in Afghanistan and say that they should follow the real Islamic rules in which women have their own rights and elders have their own. If they really stick to it, they will be an example to the world,” she said.

Mehbooba said that if, God forbade, they re-adopted the era of 1990's, then problems may increase not only for the whole world but also for the people of Afghanistan.

Responding to a question about Masrat Alam being appointed as the chairman of Hurriyat conference, Mehbooba said that she can't say anything as it is their own matter.

While replying to an another question, she said that many committees and leaders have come to Kashmir so far and they are being taken from place to place to show that everything is going normally in Jammu and Kashmir. “But people like us, especially the DDC members are being detained by saying this can be dangerous for you if you go out.”

She said that the same people who come here from outside say that Jammu and Kashmir should be restored as a state.

She also said that PAGD was created for a specific and larger purpose and for the restoration of 370 and 35A. "There are many parties in it and they have their own agendas on which they are working.” (KNS)
