Seeks immediate relief, rehabilitation of homeless families

KISHTWAR, OCTOBER 27 (KNS):  Apni Party General Secretary and Ex-MLC Syed Asgar Ali on Friday expressed deep shock over the tragic fire incident in which 15 residential houses were gutted at Gandhari in Padder, Kishtwar.

Expressing his sympathy, Syed Asgar Ali demanded immediate rescue operation and rehabilitation of over 23 families who were left homeless due to the fire incident as their residential houses were burnt.

He said that the civil administration should immediately send relief material, ration, and medical aid for the families who have suffered due to the fire incident and demanded that a proper assessment damages the property and livestocks/cattles.

He said that “There is no road connectivity to the place where the 15 residential houses have gutted and hence, the authorities should propose construction of road to the village and other remote areas so that in case of such incident immediate response teams are sent.”

He said that fire that broke out late night could have been countroled timely if there had been any road link to the area.

“The Devastation caused by the blaze could have been reduced but there was no road upgradation. It takes over 2 hours by foot to reach the village and hence there is dire need to link all remote villages in Kishtwar and other districts of Chenab valley with roads,” he said.(KNS)
