Syed Asgar Ali demands air ambulance for Chenab Valley

Kishtwar, February 08:(KNS) Provincial Vice President Syed Ali Asgar today demanded air ambulance for Chenab Valley and local participation in Power Projects.

In a statement to the press, Asgar said that the people in the mountainous district suffered in absence of facilities for the critically ill people to timely shift them in the hospitals. With poor road connectivity in remote areas of the hilly district; the air ambulance will also be helpful in handling emergency situations, he added.

“There is no means for severely ill people to shift them to the hospital and as a result, many of them lose their lives midway while being shifted to GMC Hospital at Bakshi Nagar in Jammu for specialized treatment,” said Asgar.

He said that the Govt should sanction an air ambulance for the people of Chenab Valley so that the severely ailing people can be timely shifted to the nearest hospital without wasting crucial time.

“Govt should make sure that in case of any health emergency, the seriously ill people of Marwah and Wadwan should be airlifted to the nearest hospital which is in Srinagar,” he demanded.

He was speaking at a function in which over 35 people joined the Apni Party. He said that the people of Marwah and Wadwan have to come to the town for minor works like to get certificates after travelling miles on foot to reach Kishtwar town from the snowbound areas.

“The Govt should constitute a team of competent officials who should visit annually to these snowbound and remote areas of Marwah and Wadwan so that the people get their issues redressed,” he said.

He said that for a blood test the people have to cover a long distance to reach Kishtwar. “The local administration must ensure a health centre, and lab facility in all the remote areas of Kishtwar,” he demanded.

Expressing his concern, he said, there is poor participation of locals in the Power Projects in Chenab Valley. “The administration and the construction companies in these projects must employ locals,” he demanded.

Prominent among those who joined the Apni Party included Raju Chowdhary, Abdul Chowdhary, Abdul Majeed, Irshad Ahmed, Altaf Ahmed, Javed Ali, Alam Hussain, Hussain Ali, Abdul Qayoom, Mohd.
