Srinagar, No 1 (KNS) :The Nigeen Lake Conservation Organisation (NLCO) has expressed appreciation for the timely intervention of the Lakes Conservation and Management Authority (LCMA) and the administration in addressing the issue of muck accumulation along the Sazgaripora stretch of Khushalsar.
Following NLCO’s appeal and a subsequent meeting between Chairman NLCO, Manzoor Wangnoo, and the Vice-Chairman LCMA, the department immediately mobilised dumpers and staff to lift the muck that had been creating inconvenience for commuters and obstructing road movement.
The swift response has brought a great sigh of relief to the residents and all stakeholders working for the preservation of urban lakes. The LCMA team acted promptly despite ongoing budgetary and logistical constraints, demonstrating strong commitment to environmental management and public cooperation.

He further added, “Such coordination between civil society and government institutions strengthens our shared mission of reviving and sustaining the twin urban lakes — Gilsar and Khushalsar — for future generations.
” Additionally chairman NLCO hailed construction of a jetty at the Sazgaripora side of Khushalsar by LCMA as a welcome step, as it will help stakeholders reconnect with the lake and mark a significant move toward bringing this neglected water body onto Kashmir’s tourism map
NLCO reiterated its commitment to continue extending support to the LCMA and other concerned departments in ongoing restoration drives under Mission Ehsaas and other collaborative initiatives.(KNS)
