Swarnim Vijay Varsh Cricket Tourney: Bandipora lifts T-20 KPL 2021 title, beats Ganderbal by 4 runs

Bandipora, July 17 (KNS): In conjunction with Swarnim Vijay Varsh celebrations, Army and local administration in District Bandipora and Ganderbal conducted Kashmir premier League T-20, (KPL 2021) phase from 01 July. 

A spokesperson, in a statement issued to Kashmir News Service (KNS) said that the tournament kick started with full josh and was phenomenal in terms of the zeal exhibited by the players.

“The local supporters also cheered vehemently for their heroes in the ground. With the progress in the tournament the league has suddenly caught a fire in the hearts of the locals who have been strongly supporting their teams,” reads the statement. 

It reads that the tournament was played on T20 league-cum-knockout basis. “Two matches per day were played at two different venues ie Hajin & Naidkhai. Final match was played between Bandipura (Bandipura Climbers) & Ganderbal (Ganderbal Saviours) at Hajin Senior Secondary play ground. These two teams had topped the leaderboard in their respective leagues. Bandipora climbers batted first and scored 175 runs in their allotted 20 overs. Ganderbal chased the score and it was very close contest and they scored 170 runs. Bandipora climbers won by 4 runs.”

It reads that commander, Mansabal Sector, SF personnel and Civil dignitaries witnessed the final match and applauded the efforts of all the players. 

“Man of the match was Pervez, who scored 74 runs in 43 balls of team Bandipura climbers. The phase 1 of the tournament culminated with Post match prize distribution ceremony followed by tea and refreshments,” it reads. (KNS)
