Srinagar, July 20 (KNS): Suspected militants on Tuesday late evening fired upon wife and daughter of a police constable in Verinag area of Anantnag district, leaving them wounded. 

An official told Kashmir news service (KNS) that the suspected militants fired upon the family members of police constable identified as Sajad Ahmad Malik, leaving his daughter and wife injured. 

He said that the injured were identified as Constable's daughter Madhiya Jan(17) and his Wife Nahida (43) were shifted to District Hospital Anantnag where from they were shifted to GMC Anantnag.

In a tweet, Jammu Kashmir police said that, the militant outfit, Jaish E Mohammad is behind the attack, a local militant, Mufti Altaf involved has been identified, tweet, reads. (KNS)
