Surprised to see difference between application fee charged by central recruitment bodies and J&K recruitment bodies: Sheikh Imran

Srinagar, June 20 (KNS): People’s Conference youth president, Sheikh Mohammad Imran on Monday said that he was surprised to witness colossal difference between application fee charged by Central Government recruitment bodies and J&K specific recruitment commissions and boards.

In a statement, issued to Kashmir News Service (KNS), he said that while SSC charges Rs 100 as application fee from its aspirants for non-gazetted posts, JKSSB is charging Rs 500 for the same post, however, UPSC application fee for gazetted posts is Rs 100 but JKPSC charges Rs 1000 for the same gazetted post.

“I wonder why this disparity? The competent authorities should have shown utmost concern for the alleviated sufferings of our unemployed youth & they should have taken apposite steps for generating ample employment opportunities in J&K but unfortunately it appears that by charging such exorbitant application fee these selection bodies are adamant on pushing our youth further to the wall,” he said.

He said that while interacting with numerous aspiring youth he humbly suggests and requests that J&K recruitment bodies need to follow the example of National level recruitment bodies and charge minimal application fee from the aspirants who presently have no defined source of income. “This will surely encourage more youth to participate in these exams and excel in the fields they aspire for.”

He added that it needs to be understood that government recruitment drives are primarily focused on providing equal opportunities to the youth. “It must be ensured that no one should complain tomorrow that they were made to fail because of inordinate & unaffordable application fee which is being charged from them,” he said.
