Srinagar, Dec 11(KNS): Former legislator, Surinder Singh Channi Thursday urged the Pulwama district administration to establish a dedicated snow-clearance control room for the Tral constituency, citing repeated difficulties faced by residents during winter.
He said people in Tral and adjoining areas face delays in snow removal every year, affecting mobility and essential services.
A control room, he said, would help ensure timely deployment of machinery, better coordination between departments and quicker response during snowfall.

He also appealed to the district administration and the Power Development Department to ensure uninterrupted electricity supply to the area during winter.
He said frequent cuts and low-voltage issues place a burden on households, students, businesses and patients dependent on electricity for medical needs.
Channi called for a dedicated winter power plan for Tral, strengthening of the local grid, round-the-clock monitoring teams and prompt action on faults. He requested officials to prioritise the issue in public interest.(KNS).
