Srinagar, May 13 (KNS): While expressing shock over the Sumbal tragedy, Jammu Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party (JKDFP) has said that had culprits of such heinous crimes been punished sternly in past, Sumbal tragedy would not have taken place. Giving example of Kathua tragedy, JKDFP said that had culprits been given stern punishment, it would have worked and the anti-human elements would have thought twice before carrying out their inhuman act at Sumbal. The party however, said that majority of the Kashmiri youth are living pious lives but some black sheep are bringing bad name for the whole society.
The JKDFP Spokesperson said in a statement that what happened in Sumbal is a shame for all of us. We must hang our heads in shame and think seriously how such heartless criminals are reined, who are time and again injuring our soul and heart. It is important to give this issue a serious thought and decide the future course of action.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelWe cannot escape by throwing responsibilities on one another however, if Police will perform its role positively and judiciary takes pains in conducting trials in such cases and issue stringent punishments for the culprits, there is every possibility that such shameful acts can be stopped. Is not this a fact that one and a half year has passed and judiciary is yet to decide the Kathua tragedy case? Such lethargy on institutional level is proving detrimental for the whole society because the handful of criminal minded people is truly taking the law for granted. The result is that we have to hang our heads in shame again and again. Hope that law enforcement agencies will realize their responsibilities and come forward with action instead of paperwork and mere statements. (KNS)
