Bandipora, Mar 22: Kashmir Convener reporter and senior journalist, Suhail Rather was on Tuesday unanimously elected as new president of Bandipora Professional Journalist’s Association.
In a statement to Kashmir News Service (KNS) a spokesperson said that Suhail was elected unopposed as new president of the association, following a meeting by the members.
The statement reads that it id worth noting that the association consists of professional working journalists of Bandipora except Sumbal-Sonawari, who have their own association.
“It may also be noted that the association has kept itself aloof of Facebook users posing as journalists in Bandipora,” it reads.
The statement further reads that general public is requested not to pay any heed or attention towards Facebook page owners who are posing as journalists in Bandipora.
Meanwhile, president of the association said that he will work towards upliftment and welfare of professional journalist working in Bandipora.
He also requested general public and authorities to disregard the activities and actions of Facebook page owners, who are posing as journalists in the district.(KNS)
