Anantnag, Nov 14 (KNS): For the first time in South Kashmir, a team of Surgeons conducted Laminectomy surgery at district hospital Anantnag on Sunday.
Officials said that Dilshada Jan, 45, was dated for surgery and the successful surgery was conducted yesterday.
The patient is doing well post operatively, officials said.
Meanwhile, today a team of Doctors from SKIMS along with the other doctors of District Hospital Anantnag namely Dr Malik Azad, Dr Reyaz Latoo, Dr Firdoose, Dr Farooq (Anesthetist) and the theater staff namely MohdAslam, Gh Rasool, Mukhtar Ahmad, conducted four cancer surgeries, the surgeries were in progres process till reports last came in.

Meanwhile, Medical Superintendent of Hospital Dr Majid Mehrab told KNS that such surgery will be conducted on monthly basis as per the MOU sign between Director Health services Kashmir and Director SKIMS.
He further said that World Diabetic Day was observed today on 14th November and about six hundred patients were screened in which about 50 new patients were detected.
“Necessary counseling and Medicines were distributed among them,” he said.
Meanwhile, Director Health Service said that such type of activity like cancer surgery, screening for different disease under NCD are in place throughout the Kashmir provenance. (KNS)
