The Committee on Subordinate Legislation of Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly was held here today under the chairmanship of MLA, Bashir Ahmed Dar to review the functioning of Health and Medical Education Department.
Legislators, Mubarak Gul, Choudhary Qamar Hussain, Kuldeep Raj and Anjum Fazili attended the meeting and gave their suggestions.
The committee examined and scrutinized the rules, regulations, bye-laws of Health and Medical Education Department, so that necessary reforms could be made in the department besides the committee stressed to ensure implementation of rules, regulations, bye-laws in letter and spirit.
The committee stressed upon the concerned authorities for implementation of the laws pertaining to the health department Committee suggested tough action against those involved in illegal drug related activities.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelThe Committee also emphasised on joint efforts to eradicate drug menace from the society.
Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir, Asgar Samoon briefed the committee about the working of the drug testing laboratories and assured the committee members that steps shall be taken to improve it further.
Inspector General Police, Kashmir Zone, Javaid Gillani Director Health Services, Kashmir and Jammu, Director Family Welfare, Jammu, MD NHM, Additional Secretary, H&ME, Principal GDC, Srinagar, Principal, GMC, Jammu, Project Director AIDS Control Society, J&K, other senior officers of concerned department besides Officers and Officials of Assembly Secretariat attended the meeting.
