Strict instructions in place across Kashmir as May 21 marks death anniversaries of Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, Abdul Gani Lone 

Srinagar, May 21 (KNS): Authorities are strictly enforcing Corona curfew restrictions today as it also marks the death anniversaries of  Mirwaiz Molvi Muhammad Farooq and Abdul Gani Lone.

Official sources informed Kashmir news service (KNS) that Kashmir police chief Vijay Kumar on Thursday held a meeting with DIGs and district police chiefs via video conferencing regarding the situation and directed for strict enforcement of corona curfew on Friday.” they said.
In wake of 21 May is being observed as anti-terrorism day. “The IGP asked the officers to maintain extra vigil in their areas and take preventive measures in view of the anti-militancy day,” officials said.
However, Mirwaiz led Hurriyat Conference in a press handout informed about the deferment of  "collective Fateh Khawani and commemorative public rally to be held at the Martyrs graveyard in Eidgah in wake of the ravaging covid 19 pandemic second wave that the hit J&K badly."

Meanwhile, normal life continues to remain affected in Jammu and Kashmir on the day due to lockdown in the wake of the surge in cases.
Police and paramilitary forces are manning roads in Srinagar as well as district and major towns, crossings and highway of the Valley to prevent the movement of people. 
However, Government has allowed essential and emergency services. (KNS)
