One more injured youth succumbs in SKIMS

Srinagar, July 24 (KNS): Strict curfew and communication clampdown continue on 16th day in Kashmir Valley while one more injured youth succumbed to his injuries at SKIMS after battling with his life for 13 days.
Sameer Ahmad of Khunmoh, Srinagar, who was injured during the protests in Pampore area on July 10, succumbed to his injuries at SKIMS here, taking the death toll to 48 from past 16 days in Kashmir.
The incident happened at a time when the Home Minister, Rajnath Singh was on two-day visit to Kashmir to review the ongoing situation here.
Meanwhile, authorities imposed strict curfew in Kashmir to thwart any possible protests against the civilian killings in Kashmir.
A large contingent of police and paramilitary CRPF were deployed across the Valley to thwart any possible protests against the civilian killings in Kashmir. “Police and CRPF blocked the roads by erecting concertina and barbed wires,” witnesses said.
Mobile phones and internet services continue to remain suspended from past 10 days in the Valley, nonetheless, only BSNL Broadband and post-paid services are being allowed to operate.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelTrain services also remained suspended.
Meanwhile, separatist leaders have extended the shutdown call up to July 29.
In a joint statement issued to KNS, the leadership appealed people to strictly follow the protest calendar. The leaders called for Anantnag chalo on July 25.
They said that on July 26, observe shutdown up to 2 pm to stock essentials and observe black out from 8 to 9 pm.
The leadership said that on July 27, a complete shutdown will be observed and called for Kulgam Challo while “a complete shutdown will be observed on July 28 and called for protests everywhere,” statement reads.
“Besides, complete shutdown on 29th July, leaders called for Jamia Masjid Srinagar Challo,” statement reads.
Pertinently, the unrest continues for the 16th day today after the killing of Hizbul Mujahideen commander, Burhan Muzaffar Wani, by forces in Bumdoora village of Kokernag in Anantnag district on July 8. (KNS)
