Bandipora, April 30 (KNS) : In a continued drive to enforce traffic discipline and ensure the safety of students, the Traffic Police in Bandipora carried out a strict checkpoint operation today targeting private school vehicles across the district.
During the operation, 12 school buses and vehicles were challaned on the spot for violations, including lack of proper documentation and non-compliance with transport norms. Drivers were counselled and issued clear instructions to adhere strictly to traffic regulations.
Officials also reached out to school administrations, urging them to ensure that all vehicles operating under their supervision possess valid documents, fitness certificates, and are driven by licensed drivers only.

According to details shared by the SO Traffic Rural Bandipora SI Farooq Ahmad, the department has intensified its enforcement measures throughout April 2026. Over 300 challans have been issued, and more than 50 vehicles have been seized during the month as part of a broader crackdown on traffic violations in the district.
The Traffic Department reiterated its commitment to maintaining road safety and warned that such drives will continue in the coming days, with strict action against violators to ensure compliance and safeguard public safety. (KNS)
