Srinagar, Nov 19 (KNS) : BJP Jammu and Kashmir spokesman Altaf Thakur today intensified his attack on certain political leaders, accusing them of a “shameful and dangerous attempt to glorify terrorists and mislead Kashmir’s youth.”

According to a statement issued, Thakur said it was deeply disturbing that some MLAs and MPs were trying to defend terrorists responsible for the killing of 12 innocent people, instead of supporting the devastated families who continue to mourn their loved ones.

Thakur said the same leaders who raise objections to strict anti-terror operations—especially the blowing up of houses used by terrorists as hideouts—are the ones actually pushing poor children towards radicalisation. “Anyone opposing action against terrorist houses is indirectly protecting terrorism. They are sending a poisonous message to young, vulnerable children that terrorists are heroes. This is exactly how radicalisation begins, and these politicians know it,” he said.

He accused these political families of caring only about their own interests while ignoring the suffering of ordinary people. “They want the children of the poor to be misled and dragged into terrorism, while their own children live abroad, study in elite institutions, and return straight into powerful positions. Their children get comfort and power; the children of the poor get graveyards. This double standard is shameful and cruel,” Thakur said.

Thakur said glorifying terrorists has become a dangerous political trend that is harming society. He warned that every sympathetic comment made by a political leader encourages more youth to drift towards violence.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel“When an MLA or MP speaks kindly about a terrorist, a poor child sitting in a remote village begins to believe that terrorism is acceptable. That is how innocent minds are damaged. This is not leadership—it is brainwashing,” he said.

Referring to widely respected Islamic scholar Maulana Waheeduddin Khan, Thakur reminded that suicide bombings, killing of innocents and acts of terrorism are completely against Islam. “When the most learned and respected scholars say terrorism has no place in Islam, what moral right do these politicians have to justify or defend terrorists? It is nothing but cheap vote-bank politics,” he added.

Thakur said Kashmir has paid a brutal price for decades due to political manipulation and radical propaganda, especially before the abrogation of Article 370. “The same political families who allowed radicalisation to grow in the past are once again misleading the youth today. They have learned nothing and care nothing,” he said.

Calling for unity among the people of Jammu and Kashmir, Thakur urged citizens to reject such politics outright. “We must protect our children. We cannot allow politicians to use poor children as fuel for terrorism while their own children enjoy luxury and safety. Kashmir wants peace, progress and a secure future for its youth,” he said.

Concluding with a hard-hitting remark, Thakur said: “If these leaders admire terrorists so much, let them first send their own children to the path they push poor children into. Until then, they should stop lecturing the people of Kashmir. This hypocrisy will no longer be tolerated.”(KNS)
