Srinagar, Jan 05 (KNS): While opening debate on adjournment motion, Dr Bashir Ahmad Veeri MLC J&K National Conference in a hard hitting and emotionally impressive speech charged everybody sentimentally when he touched pellet victims plight who are unable to do daily course like studies or other activities.
According to the statement issued to KNS, mention of Insha who lost both the eyes brought tears to several legislators listening the speech, Dr Veeri retorted why young children and teenagers were showered bullets indiscriminately and 38 young people were massacred within first 48 hours post Burhan episode?
“They were not armed but simply agitating controversial encounter at Kokarnag in which three young people lost their lives. Government mishandled whole situation and plunged state to unprecedented crisis worst than 1990,” he said.
Veeri lamented that more than 2500 people were visually impaired, 12000 were physically handicapped and around 10,000 have been put behind bars by this unholy alliance in last 6 months. There is "epidemic of dead eyes".
He said that this government has created potential in all 20 lac youth living in Kashmir who participated in protests to become militants in coming days. “750 youth have been slapped with draconian PSA & are languishing in jails for none of their faults,” he said.
Veeri said that in 1953, one Sher i Kashmir was jailed which gave birth to thousands of Sher i Kashmir since then. “Every house has given birth to one Sher i Kashmir today,” he added.
He said that FIRs and arrests are hovering over another 10 to 12 thousand people who have been asked to report to different police stations at regular basis.
Veeri reminded coalition partners the promises and assurances given to voter during election 2014. Both the partners stabbed their respective electorate by going against the plank on which votes were taken. Veeri pointing towards PDP benches reminded them that during election campaign late Mufti Mohammad Sayeed asked people to stop "mission 44 MLAs" of BJP to enter into state polity whose hands are soaked with the innocent blood of Gujrati Muslims.
“He used to say they are the people who molested Muslim women during Gujrat carnage and NC Congress don't have courage to stop them & only PDP can stop their evil designs. Similarly BJP deceived people of Jammu in the name of “Ek Vidhan Ek Pradhan & Ek Nishan” to get votes,” he said.
He said that Modi while addressing people in Jammu during 2014 elections also criticised "father daughter" & declared them root cause of every evil in J&K. “But for the sake of Chair both the parties compromised on everything & went against the mandate given by people of two regions & cobbled unholy alliance which caused heart burn among the people in both the regions and emotions started simmering which was further complicated by misgovernance and bad administration,” he said.
Veeri reminded PDP leaders that despite of strong differences NC extended unconditional support to PDP for Government which they refused. “These all incidents one after another evolved into volcano which was further allowed to erupt at the time of Burhan incident. Situation was mishandled by Government which resulted in to present mess which is not under any bodies control,” he said.
He demanded lifelong pension to pellet visually handicapped, government job next of Kin who was killed and life time compensation for physically handicapped during the unrest. (KNS)
