State council of Educational Research & Training, J&K organises one day workshop on “Teaching Professional Development, offline DIKSHA Web & DISHA”

Srinagar March 18:(KNS)  One day workshop on “Teaching Professional Development, offline DIKSHA Web & DISHA” was organised today by State council of Educational Research & Training, J&K.  Ravi Kumar from Ministry of Education, New Delhi, was Chief Guest and Mr. Mohammad Younis Malik, Director School Education, Kashmir was the Guest of Honour at the occasion. The workshop was presided over by Mr. Aabid Hussain, Joint Director, SCERT-KD. All DIET Principals from Ten District of the Kashmir Valley & Faculty members of SCERT –KD were present in the event.

The purpose of the workshop was to acquaint all the faculty members of SCERT and DIETs with the proficiency of content development & its use of in offline mode. Speaking on the occasion DSEK highlighted the need & importance of e-content & stressed upon the participants that this is the best alternative in the times of crises like Covid -19.He further said that we have to prepare ourselves to live with the pandemic like situations & provide all sorts of help to our school going children.

In his presidential address Joint Director, SCERT, Mr. Abid Hussain said that this is going to be the challenge for all of our experts & teachers to create the content as per the needs of our students. Shri. Ravi Kumar, technical Expert from Ministry of Education congratulated the Team DIKSH of J&K for their hard work & for 100% completion of course ahead of all state of the Country. He stressed upon the DIET Principals for acceleration of this process so that J&K will be ready with the whole content to be inaugurated on 30th of April, 2021. Earlier, programme coordinator DIKSHA, J&K, Mr. Peerzada Bashir Ahmad gave the brief introduction of the Program & highlighted the achievements of Teachers & Team DIKSHA of J&K.

In the inaugural session some modules which were created by Team J&K on Teacher Professional Development were discussed & appreciated by the participants. Modules like DISHA (Directions invoking self help applications) made to help the students & to revise their board exams through DIKSHA Platform were also presented. The module contains videos of expert, teachers solving different types of questions, previous year question papers & the instructions on how to answer such questions. These modules also possess motivational videos for students, teachers & Parents. In the final session of the program the participants were appraised how to use content on DIKSHA through offline mode. The sixth anniversary of renowned calligrapher Muhammad Siddique is being celebrated today
Srinagar, March 8. The late Mohammad Siddique Najjar, a renowned teacher and writer of Kashmir Valley Calligraphy, is being commemorated today, March 5. The late Mohammad Siddique (resident of Rah Baba Sahib, Srinagar) passed away in 2015 at 11 am due to a heart attack. Apart from working in several newspapers of the valley, Siddique had also worked  as a teacher in the school of calligraphy at the Cultural Academy, Srinagar. Today on of his death anniversary, his relatives and friends visited him. Remembering and praying for his forgiveness.

Siddiq Sahib was counted among the calligraphers on the front page and he trained many students to such an extent that they also mastered this art and arranged their employment. All those students and friends Pays homage  and praying for his eternal peace.(KNS)
