Srinagar, Feb 15 (KNS): Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Traffic City Srinagar, Sargun Shukla-IPS on Wednesday convened a meeting at Traffic Police Office City Srinagar with the representatives of Public Transporters operating in City Srinagar.
The meeting according to the statement issued to KNS was held to discuss threadbare all the traffic related problems including congestion in City Srinagar and sought their co-operation for streamlining as per the plan devised by Traffic Police.
Officials said that the transporters appraised the chair of the problems faced by them with respect to road encroachments along important road arteries and the menace developed by stray Sumo operations from Batamaloo to Dalgate and elsewhere.
SSP Traffic City Srinagar emphasized that the transporter shall ensure that they use only designated bus stops to avoid traffic congestion.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
“The importance of checking of documents was delineated along with directions to ensure that seats reserved for women and handicapped are strictly reserved for them and in case of violation, respective drivers would be held responsible,” the officials said.
Besides, she stressed upon them that the vehicles are visibly painted with name and mobile no. of the driver, Transport Company and the route allotted to avoid violations.
She assured the participants that their genuine problems would be taken up within the concerned for redressal. “It was further stressed that Fire Tenders and Emergency referrals be given the top most priority,” the officials added.
The representatives thanked the chair and assured of their full co-operation in her endeavor to streamline traffic in City Srinagar. (KNS)
