SSP holds coordination meeting with several market associations in Srinagar

Srinagar, Aug 28 (KNS): In extension of continuous efforts to reach out to public, SSP Srinagar, Sandeep Choudhary accompanied by SP East, Tanushree, SDPO Kothibagh, SHO Kothibagh and SHO Maisuma held a coordination meeting on Saturday with presidents of market federations of Lal Chowk, Koker Bazaar, Maisuma, Residency Road, Polo View, Red Cross Road and Karalkhud market. 

In a statement, issued to Kashmir News Service (KNS), a spokesperson said that about 60 members of market associations attended the meeting including Farhaan Kitaab, Bilal Ahmed Dar, Mehraj Din, Bashir Kangposh. 

“The agenda of the meeting was to know the problems faced by market associations and  arrive at amicable solutions with the help of police. Key issues discussed in the meeting included security, parking, traffic and cleanliness,” reads the statement. 

SSP Srinagar took note of all the concerns and gave them assurance to resolve the matters as soon as possible. 

He assured them of full cooperation of the police department and highlighted the importance of Lal Chowk area, as it is the business hub of Srinagar and sees footfall hundreds of people every day. 

He also highlighted the importance of cooperation from the community members to work with the police to devise solutions to problems of crime and disorder. 

The statement reads that the meeting ended on a positive note with appreciation from the participants that these kind of interactions are necessary for developing mutual trust and essential to positive police-community relationship. (KNS)
