Srinagar Shivers at -3.3°C as Winter Tightens Its Grip in Kashmir

Srinagar, Dec 28 (KNS): The Kashmir valley experienced bone-chilling temperatures, with Srinagar leading the way at -3.3°C while other areas faced similar cold conditions, including Qazigund, Pahalgam and Kupwara.


Srinagar experienced a minimum temperature of -3.3°C, while Qazigund recorded -3.8°C. In the picturesque town of Pahalgam, temperatures dropped to -5.4°C, creating a cold morning for residents and visitors alike.

 Other areas, including Kupwara (-4.3°C), Kokernag (-2.0°C), Gulmarg (-2.6°C), Anantnag (-4.9°C), Ganderbal (-5.5°C), Pulwama (-6.4°C), Bandipora (-5.9°C), Baramulla (-4.2°C), Budgam (-5.1°C), Kulgam (-2.0°C), and Shopian (-5.6°C), all experienced chilly conditions.

In the Jammu region, the city of Jammu saw a minimum temperature of 5.8°C, while Banihal recorded 9.2°C. Other areas like Batote (6.2°C), Katra (7.5°C), Bhaderwah (2.0°C), Kathua (8.5°C), Ramban (4.1°C), Reasi (6.0°C), Samba (5.7°C), and Udhampur (4.5°C) also experienced varying degrees of cold weather.

The higher-altitude Ladakh region witnessed extremely cold temperatures, with Leh recording -9.0°C, Kargil at -9.8°C, and Drass, known for its severe winters, at -12.8°C.(KNS).
