Commissioner Sec Floriculture to receive the certification in Britain Parliament

Srinagar August 19 (KNS):  World Book of Records has announced that Tulip Garden Srinagar has been included by World Book of Records for being Asia's Largest Tulip Garden with 1.6 milion Plants and home to 68 varieties of tulips.


The certificate was bestowed to Sheikh Fayaz Ahmad, Commissioner Secretary to Government Floriculture Parks and Gardens Department Jammu and Kashmir by Santosh Shukla, President and CEO World Book of Records along with other dignitaries. After receiving the important and very meaningful certification, Shiekh Fayaz Ahmed while dedicating the great feat to the hardworking gardeners of the Department said that it’s due to the tireless efforts of our dedicated staff that we could achieve such a great honor. He thanked World Book of Records London for including Tulip Garden Srinagar in the dignified book. 

Earlier Director of the Department Farooq Ahmed Rather Welcomed all the dignitaries in the important function. 
Significantly, Tulip Garden Srinagar is snuggled on the foothills of the Zabarwan mountain range at an altitude of 5600 ft, overlooking the fabulous Dal Lake in Siraj Bagh, this garden is home to several flower species other than tulips like the Daffodils, Hyacinths, Roses, Ranunculi, Muscaria and Iris.

Sheikh Fayaz Ahmad was congratulated by Central Working Committee of World Book of Records and other dignitaries from international scenario and was invited to Britain Parliament London on September 14 to receive the formal certification in this regard. Azhar Hajini presented proceedings of the event.

Dr Dilip N Pandit Editor World Book of Records, Deputy Director, Floriculture and Assitant Floriculture officers of Kashmir division and gardeners in large numbers were present on this occasion.(KNS)
