Srinagar Police solves theft case, 2 accused arrested


September 19 Sep (KNS): Srinagar Police today claimed to solved a theft case and have arrested the accused person who were involved in in the commission of crime and recovered stolen property.
According to police statement issued to KNS read, On 18/09/2020, Police Station Khanyar received a complaint from one lady namely Shaista Irshad Jan wife of Irshad Ahmad resident of Nowshehra Srinagar that she came to attend Friday prayers at Dastageer sahab Khanyar & after entering the gate of shrine some unknown female thieves have stolen her Golden Bangle, which costs ?1.20 lacs.
Accordingly, case FIR No. 71/2020 under relevant sections of law was registered in Police Station Khanyar and investigation was set into motion.
During the course of investigation, two suspected ladies identified as Kajlaan Khatoon and Salma both residents of Chachloora Magam were apprehended. During questioning, officers learnt about their involvement in the commission of crime and on their disclosure stolen property was recovered from their possession. Further investigation is in progress.
Community members have applauded the efforts made by the Srinagar police in solving the case. We assure community members that police have resolved to act tough against individuals involved in criminal activities. (KNS)
