Srinagar Police Organizes Drug Awareness Programme under CAP

Srinagar, Nov 20 (KNS) :With the objective to address the drug menace in the society along youth and under the aegis of Civic Action Programme ( CAP ), Srinagar Police organized Drug Awareness Programme at Government Boys Higher Secondary School, Shutrashahi.

The initiative aimed at sensitizing students, teachers, and the community about the dangers of drug abuse and promoting a safe and drug-free environment.

The event witnessed active participation from around 100 students from various schools, along with school staff and police officials.

The focus of the event was to educate students on the adverse effects of drugs on physical and mental health, the importance of social responsibility, and the collective role of youth, educators, and law enforcement in curbing drug abuse.

Several activities were organized during the programme to engage and inform the students.

Students enthusiastically participated in an essay writing competition, expressing their thoughts on building a drug-free society, the dangers of substance abuse, and ways to lead a healthy lifestyle. The competition provided a platform for students to reflect and articulate their commitment to a drug-free future.

The seminar emphasized the collaborative responsibility of schools, families, and law enforcement in safeguarding youth from the menace of drugs.

The students also staged street play ( Nukkad Natak ) to convey strong message about the dangers of drug addiction. Through an interactive and engaging performance, the Nukkad Natak effectively illustrated real-life scenarios, inspiring students to avoid drugs and encouraging peer-to-peer awareness.

Throughout the programme, the students actively participated, and pledged to stay away from drugs, demonstrating a strong sense of responsibility toward their health and society.

The event concluded with Srinagar Police reaffirming their commitment to conducting regular awareness drives and educational programmes to promote a safe, healthy, and drug-free community.

The programme was widely appreciated by school staff, students, and attendees, marking a significant step toward building awareness and fostering a culture of prevention against drug abuse among the youth of the area.(KNS)
